Holiday Tea and Optional Ornament Exchange

Location:  3129 Brooklawn Terrace Chevy Chase MD 20815

Hostess: Sarah Casseday

It's that time of year where all of our sisters from around the area gather together to celebrate the holiday season. Members of DCAC have been invited to join us.  We are extending this invite to Kappa Delta loved ones, significant others and friends as well. The more the merrier.

If you would like to participate in the ornament exchange, please bring a wrapped ornament.  The ornament exchange will begin around 3 pm, during the last hour of the event.  This is always a fun event and everyone goes home with a wonderful ornament!

Sarah will provide pimento cheese, cucumber, and cream cheese tea sandwiches, as well as some pecan puffs which are like Russian tea cookies.  She will also provide tea, punch, and wine.  The lunch will be potluck style.  Please see for a sign up of food items to complete the lunch.  Since we have listed a varied list of the food items, please only bring food to feed about 12-15 people.

The MoCo Alumnae will be collecting snacks and goodies for our Maryland Alpha Rho chapter for their exam week.  If you would like to donate munchies or money, bring them to the party!  Additionally, if you have any questions or would like to volunteer for bringing these goodies to the Alpha Rho house, please inquire with Wanda and Joni.

We look forward to seeing so many of you this year as this special occasion has been a great success in the past.

Happy Holidays and AOT!

Apple Picking

Larriland Farm, 2415 Woodbine Rd, Woodbine MD

Join us as we pick our own apples and vegetables and enjoy the farm market. Some vegetables in October include pumpkins, spinach, beets, broccoli, chard, radishes, turnips, kale, fall squash, and lettuce.  For a full list of available apples, please see  This event is open to families, friends, and children.

Enjoy the fall color display each year that Mother Nature puts on as the leaves change color. Gaze across the fields dotted with thousands of orange pumpkins, each one waiting to become a jack-o-lantern for your porch. The farm is decorated for Halloween with ghosts and goblins to delight and scare you. The fields are laden with crisp, succulent vegetables. The orchards are bent down with apples. It’s the last harvest to reap before the cold winter sets in. And fall is the perfect time to enjoy a tall glass of freshly squeezed apple cider.

Hayrides are offered during the day (9:30 am – 4:30 pm). This is a tractor-drawn 20-minute wagon ride over the farm, ford a stream and through the woods which are decorated for Halloween. A $4 fee per person is charged. No reservation is required.

Let's meet at the main gates at 1 pm.

See you all there!
